The drive down through the Great Glen is full of beautiful scenery and the weather was on our side so made it even more spectacular.
We checked in at reception with the very helpful staff who explained everything to us and showed us what areas were available. As is the custom now, I go to the water point to fill up while Angela has a wander around to find a suitable pitch. As can be seen by the picture below she found a good one………….
After setting up we decided to make the most of the sun and sat outside for the rest of the day taking in the views, air and a spot of reading in between. It was nice to just chill after a long drive.
We planned a cycle ride to Neptune’s Staircase but unfortunately my back went so Angela suggested going back via the shops to get a few bits and head back to the van to rest it.
The rest worked and the day after we went on a ten mile cycle ride to the end of the glen. We have been there before but on a scooter which is a lot easier than on a push bike. We were in no hurry so took our time with plenty of stops for photographic purposes:-) The weather was glorious as was the scenery. We had a well deserved pint at the end of the ride.
The last day we decided to walk to Neptune’s Staircase as we had never been before. Due to a temporary footpath closure it was not the best walk out so after our visit we decided to get the bus back to Fort William. We had fish & chips before going back to the van.
