Today it has been six years since we began full timing in our motorhome and we both agree that it has been (apart from getting married) the best thing we have ever done together.
For those that do not know in October 2008 we sold our house in Abingdon, Oxfordshire along with all of our belongings (and the cats Thelma & Louise) and moved in with Dean’s mother. Some people thought we were mad to get rid of our lovely house and big garden but we were about to embark on an adventure into the unknown.
We had put a deposit down on a motorhome with West Country Motorhomes in Swindon even before we had sold our house. and finally picked it up in November. We went off on our maiden voyage as we called it for a couple of weeks to get used to it before putting it into storage. We did not have a clue what we were doing but soon got the hang of things.
The motorhome has everything we had in our house, TV, Shower, Toilet, Bed, Garage, Fridge and cooker albeit on a smaller scale. One of the advantages that a motorhome has over a house is that you can take it with you and also you can follow the good weather!
Angela was still working as a financial accountant and I had taken a years unpaid leave from BT. The plan was for Angela to work up until Christmas (I finished early November) while I painted and decorated the house and any other job that needed doing.
So after spending Christmas together we finally collected the van from storage and began our adventure which has been documented on this website.
