Today began with me (Dean) going to the dentist at 8am to have my broken tooth repaired. It happened over 3 months ago and I had to register with the NHS dentist here in Newquay (3 month waiting list).
Fortunately no anaesthetic was needed and I was out within 20 minutes to carry on with our day off.
Angela decided to drive us down to Fowey on the south coast and it was well worth it not only was the weather kind to us but the place is very picturesque.
We got there early and paid £3.80 for 3 hours parking and set off to explore the backstreets and around the harbour. There was a boat about to leave for a 45 minute cruise around the harbour but we decided against it but it did look inviting.
We loved the narrow streets and the various shops and boutiques selling their wares as well as the many places to eat (all looked and smelled tempting)!
We carried on with our walk and happened upon a lovely looking café called Pinky Murphy’s and the sign outside said “We don’t do grumpy” http://www.pinkymurphys.com/ we had to go in and sample the food. I had a Pannini filled with bacon, mushrooms and fresh tomatoes and Angela had scrambled egg on toast. We shared a large pot of Earl Grey tea and it cost about £15 all in which was well worth it. The decour is fantastically quirky and well worth seeking out if you are ever in Fowey.
We eventually drove back to the van for a curry, naan bread and a beer and are now about to settle down with a good book.
