We have now been open for ten days and it has been a bit of a whirlwind. All of us have worked really hard the few weeks before the site opened and we’re all fed up of green wood stain!
Everything was in place to open on the 1st March and we welcomed our first campers at 12 noon. Unfortunately our computer system was offline for the first few days, so we spent ages putting the backlog of bookings on once we were up and running.
The new computer system has been a challenge but it seems to be slowly sorting itself out, and we’re now on top of things at the site so we can manage any problems we face with it. Our campers have been a lovely bunch so far and it feels like the Millpond (www.millpondfishing.co.uk) has come alive again. It has a real energised feel about it and the lake is filling up nicely, despite being very low at the end of last season.
Brian the water bailiff is back with his lovely wife so the gang’s all here. It feels like a family and we’ve had a lot of laughs already, with the new assistants Sandy and Tony having been down to say hello and set their caravan up.
Our yurt is attracting a lot of attention but after a long chat we’ve decided to not show people around as the aim of it was to have some privacy. We’re directing people to this website if they would like to get an idea of how it looks inside. Our yurt warming party has been postponed until Easter weekend as by then we’ll be ‘off the wagon’ so celebrations all around!
