Dean and I had had a few discussions about where we were headed for today, but we stuck with the original plan and settled on this site. How right we were to do so! The greeting we received from the gent on reception is the best we’ve ever had. By the time we’d finished checking in we were all laughing and he’d completely put us at our ease.
We chose our pitch (they’re very simple but most people use the site for visiting Granada or to hire the bungalows when skiing in the Sierra Nevada during the winter) and got a few things out then wandered into the village to get a few provisions. The site has some pretty buildings and it had a really relaxed feel to it – there were Spanish, Dutch, Germans, French and British on the site and everyone said hello, even the ten feral cats…
Although the outside pool is now closed for the year, we were still able to sit on the verandah which was a real sun trap. We took our books up there and read for a while, warning our bones up as it was quite cool down below. A bonus in the height of summer but not at this time of year, and were joined by Ginge, one of the cats who took a shine to us during our stay.
Today and tomorrow we’re just sorting our abode out and getting a load of boring stuff out the way like washing, cleaning but we did treat ourselves to the bottle of Rioja we bought from Haro – cheers!
