We had hoped to ride to Applecross today but after the high winds from last night we decided against it. At least until we get a bit more experience of riding in the wind.
Today we got to practice riding in the wind but not to Applecross. Instead we went to Ullapool which is 51 miles of beautiful scenery. We stopped off for a few photos on the way there and back.
The journey in took us about an hour and I only (nearly) dropped the bike once when turning left at a T junction. A bit of a scary moment and a bit of a ball breaker while taking the strain! Not something I want to do too often!
After parking up next to Tesco’s we walked down to the harbour and found a nice place to have a coffee in “The Frigate Cafe/Bistro” http://www.ullapoolcatering.co.uk/
the food looked good and the staff were very friendly. As the sun was shining we sat outside.
After coffee we went into Tesco to buy a few goodies for this evening and then set off back to Poolewe. We are covering for our managers Phillip & Julia tomorrow who are off to a meeting so this means we will be working two full days.
Below are a few pictures from the ride.
