These last few weeks have been so busy! The campsite has been at full capacity with an average of four people per pitch, making our occupancy about 350 people at any one time.
Summer has definitely happened this year with the sun shining most days, so we’ve both been in shorts every day. It has been a very different experience to the other sites we’ve worked on, but it has been really good fun. The difference it makes when you are working as part of a strong team is immense.
We’ve got so much done while still having a giggle along the way, plus when a camper has been abusive to one of us the others step in and make us laugh. Our philosophy remains that the only ones who are obnoxious are those who do not want to follow the rules that everyone else seems able to abide by.
After all the abuse, the rules still apply so they’ve only wasted their own precious holiday time. Having said that, we’ve had some fantastic campers who have made the job an absolute joy.
So, we’ll continue to run the site in the fair manner we’ve done all season and hopefully the well mannered, considerate campers appreciate our efforts. The reviews seem to support that view, so there! 
Our days off have consisted of walking down to the beach, relaxing and reading but we did venture to Bedruthan Steps last weekend. It is owned by the National Trust and you have to walk down some very steep steps cut into the rock face to get to the beach. You have to be careful of the tide times as the sea cuts off parts of the beach at different times and the sea comes in really high two hours before high tide.
It is a beautiful place to visit and feels magical as you get the sense of being trapped due to the only access/egress being the steps.
