After work today I (Angela) decided I couldn’t possibly survive the season with only two pairs of shorts! So, come late afternoon after we’d finished work we set off for Fat Face in Newquay, thinking two hours would be ample time.
Our walk took us into Watergate Bay, then along through Porth and finally we walked into Newquay…one hour and fifty minutes it took us! Dean was wearing his ‘bare foot’ shoes and I foolishly wore sandals. Not a good idea when the temperatures are in the high 20s, then we had to walk through town when it wasn’t at its best to get to Fat Face at the far end of town. He ended up with sore feet and wearing trainers for the next three days and I treated myself to a couple of blisters.
Luckily the shop assistant was very welcoming and I was able to relieve myself of £56 for two pairs of shorts, which I have rarely been out of as the weather has been glorious! After making our purchase, we limped into The Central Bar for fish and chips, washed down with a well earned pint of cider before catching the bus home.
