Well, we are underway at last on our seven week magical mystery tour!
We picked Bill & Lynn up from Birmingham Airport yesterday morning and had a good natter and catch up on the way back to Hereford. We then went into Ledbury for a full English breakfast at our favourite Market House Cafe before heading back to finish loading the ‘van ready for leaving today.
After saying our goodbyes we left The Millpond and had just over one hours drive to stay with Terry & Karen.
On our arrival we were treated to a warm welcome and after a ‘putting the world to rights’ session, we had a light lunch prepared by Karen of homemade bread for sandwiches and ginger cake. Mmmmm, yummy!
In the afternoon Barney needed to go for a walk so we all put on our wellington boots, then drove out to a lovely place called Chaddesley Corbett. We walked through fields and woods, which in places was like quagmire. Barney seemed to love it though!
Having originally planned on staying for only one night, we ended up staying for three. They are such a genuine, lovely friendly family and we had a fantastic time with them. We talked about everything and anything, one of those times when you can just talk and talk! They’re like a double act in the best possible sense and we feel like we’ve known them for years, not six months.
We reckon we ended up putting on a few pounds in weight as they kept trying to feed us! 2012 was a pretty grim year, but one of the best things about it was we met them.
We look forward to working with them again sometime this year and will be keeping in touch during our travels.
Thanks to you both
