Welcome to our website!
We are Dean and Angela and we’ve been living and working in our motorhome since 17th January 2009.
Back in 2008 we had a life changing meeting with a wonderful couple called Dick & Joan. While we were camping in Swanage, they turned up in a motorhome and as we got chatting about life etc. they explained they lived in their ‘van. We asked a hundred and one questions about their way of life and they answered every one of them! Dick said if we were serious about living in one to do our research, get on every ‘van, ask lots of questions and told us the only thing that would stop us would be our mental attitude.
By that he meant we’re all taught to follow the same path, go to school to get a good education, get a good job, buy a house, climb up the social ladder, pay into a pension for your retirement, then what happens….you drop dead within six months! That struck a real chord with us having lost both our fathers already, so we followed their advice and within six months we’d sold up, bought a motorhome and haven’t looked back since.
Our original professions of Telecommunications/Health & Safety and Financial Accounting brought with them a lot of pressure, due to the nature of accident investigations, dealing with chronically ill staff, and on the accounting side deadlines – lots of them! It was a massive decision to leave our original life behind but we both went into it together, understanding the pitfalls we might face and agreeing to deal with any problems as a team.
We took 2009 off and travelled through Scotland, France and Germany. We both agreed that we loved living in the van and discussed how we could fund it.
Since 2010 we have worked summer contracts for the Camping and Caravanning Club and the Caravan Club (now the Caravan and Motorhome Club). We have worked in some beautiful locations which you can read about in our website.
We’ve met so many wonderful, interesting people on our travels and if our website inspires just one person to change their life for the better, it’s been worth it.
Read on and enjoy – happy travelling!
